While the calculation is correct, $1M 35 years from now isn’t going to be enough to retire. It’s pretty low right now too. You can do a whole lot better with $500 per month than throwing it the S&P and and hoping, especially if you have any motivation and the ability to learn about better investments.

This is a great way to build that motivation, but it’s a long road to nowhere if that strategy never changes.
